CD Amsterdam

the players:
ganz
oats
f

the scene:
a bar

the topic:
the world's most depressing, tear-inducing songs

the conclusion:
let's make a CD compilation of them! what FUN!

we've thrown ourselves into the task with RELISH. and a couple of CRACKERS have emerged along with the usual suspects. please proffer your suggestions. and be sure anyone joining Alberto and I for New Year will be subjected to it if they are careless enough to get up before 10 a.m.

Yes, like the sea I think. So alive!

Anyhoo, on a serious note- call me cliche girl if you will but can I suggest Hallelujah (original L.Cohen version though I think).

FAB song but surely famous blue raincoat is more wrist-slitting inducing?

Live from Amsterdam! PLEEEEASE burn me a copy. Great idea.

the moldie oldies section:
-Patsy Cline - Why Can't He Be You?

-Dionne Warwick - Walk on By (I'll cop you Isaac Hayes, too, might be sadder)

-Roy Orbison - Crying (trite, but.)

-Led Zeppelin - D'Yer Mak'er

and in the power ballad category:

-Def Leppard - Love Bites

and in the guilty pleasures category, this one actually got me through a breakup, so:

-Jewel - Dreams

Oooo- nice choices. But if we are going for truly wrist-slitting depressive-ness, I'd also add probably anything from Nebraska by the Springsteen or possibly even the Ghost of Tom Joad (those poor, poor Mexican migrants).....

Leonard, Leonard, Leonard, we love him. I'm with Oats on the Famous Blue Raincoat. I shall be there at NY but aim not to have gone to bed by 10am. I expect you to be still up with me, weeping gently into our grappa...
