spring awakening
would Frank Wedekind approve?
am still digesting the shock this has been turned into a musical but willing to suspend belief. it's got stunning reviews. and well. the most sacred of cows and the unlikiest of subjects often do make the best musicals, especially for those who like me detest the genre by and large (erm with notable exceptions). must read more.

I think I OD-ed on musicals when I was a kid: I grew very, very tired of them. But a few years back I fell in love with Trick (of all films) and I suddenly realised that it was a musical. Spooky. So maybe I didn't hate musicals after all. And then I started revisiting stuff like Singin' in the Rain. But I still hate most of those ghastly Seven Brides... things.
Ah, who cares?
Now, when are we gonna get a decent film version of Threepenny Opera?
I'd like to see my life story made into a musical. The choreography would be tap heavy. The soundtrack is yet to be decided but it would include She's a manaic from Flashdance.
i see a test coming on. if you were a musical what would it be?
mine would be set in an all-girls boarding school. lots of hockey playing. and end in suicide. to the sounds of folk guitar strumming.
